Broadway Theatre Project Auditions This Weekend in New York City
Broadway Theatre Project invites serious students of musical theatre to audition for our three-week summer session of intensive study in the disciplines of acting, dancing and singing.

Christopher d’Amboise, Joan Lader, Terrence Mann, Austin Pendleton, Ben Vereen, Frank Wildhorn and Patrick Wilson (pictured above) as well as Broadway Casting Directors and Producers
Open Call Audition. No appointment necessary.
What to bring: Prepare 16 bars of a song and a one-minute monologue (cold readings available). A jazz combination will be taught at the audition. Dress to dance. Bring an application (available online or at the live audition), headshot or snapshot, letter of recommendation, and resume (optional). Applicants will audition in all three disciplines and are expected to excel in at least two of the three.
Admission is by audition only. Tuition (including room and board) for the 2010 session is $3,500. Scholarship applications are available upon acceptance.

Broadway Theatre Project Worskshop at Bellevue College on January 30, 2010
Broadway Theatre Project faculty members Mary Walkley, Nancy Dussault, Val Mayer and Darren Gibson will present a workshop in voice technique, vocal performance, acting and dance at Bellevue College in Seattle on January 30, from 10 am to 5 pm. Students will rotate through classes with each faculty member, and also participate in a panel discussion. This event is open to the public and only costs $50! No preregistration necessary. Broadway Theatre Project and "Billy Elliot"
The Tony award-winning musical Billy Elliot was recently named "Best Musical of the Decade" by Time magazine. What do Broadway Theatre Project and Billy Elliot have in common? The answer: BTP faculty members Joan Lader (Broadway vocal instructor, Grady Bowman (original Broadway company) and Ryan Kasprzak (current Chicago company) as well as alum Greg Graham (Broadway Dance Captain). Broadway Theatre Project Alum Hayley Newton on BBC's "So You Think You Can Dance"
Broadway Theatre Project and "Wonderland"
Broadway Theatre Project conducted the first workshop of the Frank Wildhorn work, Wonderland. Broadway Theatre Project Artistic Director Debra McWaters directed/choreographed the workshop and faculty members and apprentices performed. After seeing the original workshop at BTP, producer Judith Lisi picked up the show for production. Wonderland is currently playing at the Alley Theatre in Houston. Broadway Theatre Project alum Katharine McPhee's album Unbroken has just been released! Get it on Amazon.com or iTunes today! Of her musical journey, Katharine says "It took me a long time to figure out where I wanted to go and be as an artist. I needed time to learn who I was as a musician." Well, take one listen to the song "Lifetime," which she cowrote with Boots Ottestad, and it will be obvious to you that she has definitely figured it out. Congrats to Katharine and Happy 2010 to all the BTP apprentices!
