Broadway Theatre Project and "Billy Elliot"

The Tony award-winning musical Billy Elliot was recently named "Best Musical of the Decade" by Time magazine. What do Broadway Theatre Project and Billy Elliot have in common? The answer: BTP faculty members Joan Lader (Broadway vocal instructor, Grady Bowman (original Broadway company) and Ryan Kasprzak (current Chicago company) as well as alum Greg Graham (Broadway Dance Captain). Broadway Theatre Project Alum Hayley Newton on BBC's "So You Think You Can Dance"

Broadway Theatre Project and "Wonderland"

Broadway Theatre Project conducted the first workshop of the Frank Wildhorn work, Wonderland. Broadway Theatre Project Artistic Director Debra McWaters directed/choreographed the workshop and faculty members and apprentices performed. After seeing the original workshop at BTP, producer Judith Lisi picked up the show for production. Wonderland is currently playing at the Alley Theatre in Houston. Broadway Theatre Project Alum Katharine McPhee's Album "Unbroken" On Sale Today!

Broadway Theatre Project alum Katharine McPhee's album Unbroken has just been released! Get it on Amazon.com or iTunes today! Of her musical journey, Katharine says "It took me a long time to figure out where I wanted to go and be as an artist. I needed time to learn who I was as a musician." Well, take one listen to the song "Lifetime," which she cowrote with Boots Ottestad, and it will be obvious to you that she has definitely figured it out. Congrats to Katharine and Happy 2010 to all the BTP apprentices!

Broadway Theatre Project Announces New Program "BTP Comes To You!"

Playbill magazine calls BTP “the world’s most prestigious musical theatre arts education program for high school and college students” and Broadway Theatre Project alumni have appeared in more than 65 different shows on Broadway. And now, Broadway Theatre Project is offering an exciting new opportunity to bring BTP classes and faculty members to your university, high school or studio. Classes are offered in week-long, weekend or day sessions and various BTP faculty members will participate.

Students participating in BTP Comes to You workshops will also be considered for participation in the BTP 2010 summer session. Classes are custom-designed to fit the individual needs of the host organization.
